For the Love of a Country Stallion

There I sat, on the far west border of Sweet Apple Acres, watching Celestia's Sun lower onto the horizon. As the glowing star which gave life to everything slowly faded away to make way for evening, I sighed once, and then again.     There was no real reason for my slightly depressed state. After all, my birthday was tomorrow, and I knew that Pinkie would have something planned, as she always did. But for now, I couldn't think about the fun I might have tomorrow, I was thinking about what I wanted right now.     And what I wanted right now was to be cuddled into cloud nine by the handomest, most sought-after stallion in Ponyville: Ma

Adventures in Hoenn -- Prologue

"How are you doing today son?" "I'm alright, dad. Just trying to get this homework finished." "Did mom tell you than I'm going to be out of town for a few days. Going to see what I can learn about the Tauros on Route 38." "Yeah, I know. Good luck with that." "Something bothering you, son?" "No. Just sometimes I wonder why you would devote your life to just one type of Pokémon? Especially when it has only gotten you that small Gym Trainer position." "Hey, that Gym Trainer position will make me a Gym Leader one day, just you wait." "If you say so, dad, if you say so."

AiK -- Chapter 1.1: Who Am I?

“Never thought I would get here,” I said aloud as I stood on the outskirts of the town of Pallet.          Hi, my name is Leif. Today is my 18th birthday, or so I was told, and am on my way to see Professor Oak in Pallet Town to receive a Pokémon.          I’ve lived for as long as I can remember in Viridian City, which isn’t far from here. However, just a few days ago, I was told that the people whom I had always assumed were my parents were not related to me at all. Turns out I was found all alone in Viridian Forest as a baby and adopted by this nice couple. So now I don’t know who I am. E

AiJ -- Chapter 7.5: Sisters of Steel

It took quite awhile for Jasmine to fully recover from her illness, even with the SecretPotion we had brought from Cianwood. But recover she did, and by then she was more than ready to get back to battling.        Leif, May, and I arrived at the Olivine City Gym at the appropriate time. As you can well imagine, there was quite a list of trainers waiting to make their challenge for the badge, but I was first in line.        "Glad to see you are on time," Jasmine said to me when we made it to the battlefield, "I have very much looked forward to this battle. But, if I may, I'm going to request a slight change in the rules."

Writing is Magic -- Chapter 1: Hello, Ponyville

*KNOCK*          *KNOCK*                      *KNOCK*          *SCRAPE*          It was the first house I had come to in town. I didn’t even know where I was. I was so tired from walking. And it was so late at night, or maybe it was just really early in the morning, I don’t even remember. There was no strength left in my entire body. I collapsed onto the welcome mat at the door and passed out.          …          By the time I woke up it was afternoon. I was no longer on the doormat, but now inside of what I could only assume was the same house. When my eyes fully adjusted, I shot up. I was lying on a r

Crafting Kingdom -- Chapter XXI:Completing History

Somehow, the EnderDragon and I had once again become two seperate beings. I could see the arrow that Morgan shot sticking out of the dragon's neck. "Augh, you wench," the dragon roared in pain, "you'll pay dearly for that!" I quickly pulled myself backward out of the dragon's immediate line of sight. Soon I reached the steps which Njord was still laying on. He wasn't dead, but he wouldn't have been able to tell me what city we were in at this point. "OK dragon," I said, picking myself up and grabbling Njord's pickaxe, "it's about time we settle things, don't you think?" "I'll have to admit, you're a tougher adversary than I expected. Nor

ToT -- Episode 10: Porcelain Program

“Well here we are, Veilstone City.”          “We’re only in Veilstone,” Melody asked, exhausted, “I thought we would have been in Sunyshore by now.”          “Don’t worry; we’re two-thirds of the way there. And since we’re both tired, I say we rest.”          “Good idea. Where is your hideout around here?”          “I don’t have one.”          “What!? We’re not going into town are we!?”          “Not exactly. You see, I have a good friend here. She runs an inn where we can stay.”

Ghost

Are you afraid? You should be. Heed what I say. Those things that you hear at night, They are real. As real as you and me. Have you heard the moaning from the tower of death? Have you seen lights coming from the mountain of grief? I have. Have you seen things you cannot explain? Have you experienced feelings you can't describe? I have. Things exist in this world which are beyond explanation, But that doesn't mean they aren't there. Do you dare to search for them? Only the bravest can hope to find them, There can be no faintness of heart. Will you find them? Or will they find you first?

Theories, Please #2: Ash Doesn't Have Time

The Pokemon anime is one that, for better or worse, gets fans riled up all the time. Most of the time, it's about the show's laughable assertion that their main character hasn't aged. But I'm not here to talk about that, I'm here to talk about how Ash trains his Pokemon, why he doesn't do it that often, and ultimately, why he can never win the big League Championship. First off, I am not putting this down to a character flaw. Ash has shown that when he needs to do a specific type of training to beat a certain type of opponent, he is more than up to the task. I think of how in Johto after having his first battle with Clair ruined by Team Rock
